Luck not on women’s side
The Queensland women have lost the Series 1-2, but were unlucky, going down by just a few shots. From the grins on their faces you would never have guessed the Queensland women lost the Test Series, but they finished on a high with a win in the third.
Both Tests came down to the wire and literally the last end with the women putting up a strong fight.
Test one was lost by just one shot 58-59 with the Queenslanders having two rink wins (Lynsey Clarke and Tracy Foster), while Test two had just one rink win (Foster), but there was only two shots in it.
The third Test was where things finally went their way and they came home with a nine shot win over New South Wales 61-52 with two rink wins (Clarke and Louise Witton).
Clarke won her match against Natasha VanEldik 26-19, while Louise Witton was victorious over Kelsey Cottrell 19-12. Only Foster lost the rink against Karen Murphy 16-21, but it was still some fantastic bowling on show.
Foster playing on home turf said she was a little nervous at the beginning of the Series.
“There was a lot of pressure at first, but it was great to play at home,” she said.
“It’s not only great for the club, but the district too.”
Foster said the team was unlucky with their losses during the Series.
“We were unlucky, it could have went either way, but I am not disappointed with how we played,” she said.
Foster was rewarded for her efforts throughout the Series, by being named Player of the Series.
